Julian of Norwich famously said “All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of thing shall be well” in her book, Revelations of Divine Love, also known as Showings. She wrote this comforting message after receiving a series of visions from God. The phrase appears multiple times throughout the text which focuses on her understanding of sin and God’s love.

With sadness and gratitude in equal measure, I post this from the late Walter Brueggemann. In the opinion of many, this writer included, he had one of the keenest, most compassionate and discerning theological minds of our era. Few have influenced so many across the theological and ecclesiastical spectrum than he. I got to hear him speak on the Psalms at the Calvin College Worship Symposium in 2014. I’ve never been the same.
With his loss, may his words spread like wildfire through the earth. We need them now more than ever. Sing now with the angels, uncle Walt. You will be missed…
