Not today

Dear friends, how I thank you for following along with me on this white-knuckle journey of life. It’s so much better doing this with friends. You mean the world to me.

Let’s keep sharing the road together. It’s better that way. Friends help bear the burdens we all face, making them feel somewhat less.

Today, I take a pass from posting anything significant so I can celebrate my birthday.

No, please. Stop. You’re embarrassing me…giphy-1.gif

Not too many moons ago, in a smallish town in Western Alberta, the Lord sent an angel from heaven to be with some of us who have been blessed enough to come to know Robert Alan Rife.

As I slowly learn more about the wisdom of the ancients here in NZ, I have come to understand that Rob is, in every way one might perceive, a true taonga and a sage Tohunga ahurewa:

    1. Taonga – a precious, sacred gift…a treasured rangatira, whose soul’s mere presence empowers, encourages, and uplifts others to reach the greatest heights their imaginations can aspire to.
    2. Tohunga – a profound ‘chalice’ – into which the Lord has poured his Love and Sophia, imbued with the mysterious essences of the tapu as His faithful recepticle, and chosen by Him to lead people where, step-by-step, they may feel the movement of creation in their hearts; and to lead people where, side-by-side, they may feel the embrace of the common soul.

All who are lucky enough to know you — a precious and rare pearl, whose mere presence and thoughtful words speak directly into my heart and soul in as deep and profound ways — will recognize (resonate with) what is said here.

In the words of my favourite mentor, Richard Rohr:

“All great spirituality teaches about letting go of what you don’t need and who you are not. Then, when you can get little enough and naked enough and poor enough, you’ll find that the little place where you really are is ironically more than enough and is all that you need. At that place, you will have nothing to prove to anybody and nothing to protect.

Such people can connect with everybody. They try to discover the real person they are, otherwise they cannot encounter the Lord in truth. From time to time something authentic shows through: in moments when we are carried away by such joy that we forget who or what we are looking at…when we are unself-conscious in moments of extreme pain…or when we have a deep sense of sadness or of wonder. At these moments we see something of the true person that we are. But no sooner have we seen than we often turn away because we do not want to confront this person face to face…. Nevertheless this is the only real person there is in us.”

Your amazing friendship has always helped me (and many others) to discover their ‘truest selves’ — and we are all most grateful and ever blessed for knowing you! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
